11Progress Report on FETs
- The HWSETA offered Ancillary Health Care NQF
level 1 learnerships through two FET colleges. - 1. King Sabata Dalindyebo College (Eastern
Cape) 50 learners. - 2. Khathu College (Northern Cape) 25 learners
12Future Plans for Organisation
- In the year 2006/07, the HWSETA has invited FET
colleges located in KwaZulu Natal, Eastern Cape
and Northern Cape to apply for recognition as
Institutes of Sectoral or Occupational Excellence
(ISOE). - The HWSETA is to go on a drive to encourage FETs
to offer its qualifications and learnerships. - FETs are also to be invited to apply for
accreditation as New Venture Creation Training
Providers in order to serve as a conduit for NVC
training. This training is to be funded by the
HWSETA.
13Future Plans for Organisation
- Workshops will be conducted in the provinces not
partaking in learnerships. - We are currently in consultation with SAQA for
the generation of a Traditional Healers and
Hearing Aid Technician qualifications. Once
registered these qualifications will be offered
as learnerships (this process will only be
concluded in 2007). - Implementation of learnerships will be firstly
focused in those provinces where no learnerships
were implemented. - Consultation sessions will be set up with the DGs
of the provinces to initiate project plans.
