STATES COMMITMENT

• In Asia and the Pacific region, increasing
  numbers of governments have committed to dealing
  with disability issues by adopting
• Biwako Millennium Framework (20032012)
• United Nations (UN) Convention on the Rights of
  Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

CHALLENGES

• Move beyond mere visibility for persons with
  disabilities rights to actual accountability
• Issues to considered at every level of the
  development, within every committee, convention,
  and assembly.
• To continue organizing cross-culturally,
  remaining sensitive to the needs and desires of
  PWDs from every region of the world
