Title: Hertfordshire Health Walks
1Hertfordshire Health Walks
A popular county wide programme of free short,
regular walks led by trained volunteers and
graded to suit all fitness levels and abilities.
2Hitchin Letchworth Health Walks
Walks take place in both towns and in
surrounding villages all year round on a weekly
or fortnightly basis including weekends and
evenings (during summer).
3Why walk?
- a great way of meeting new people - most walks
finish in the pub for a drink and a natter - a chance to get outside in your local green
spaces and countryside helping to combat
stress, depression and anxiety - brisk walking helps reduce the risk of diabetes,
Alzheimer's, bowel cancer and can help prevent
osteoporosis, high blood pressure, stroke and
coronary heart disease
4What our health walkers say
The health walks are just great. Excellent
leaders, good routes, good pubs for a drink
afterwards. Thanks!
In the days of the credit crunch what can be
better than a good walk followed by a cup of tea
good for us and our wallet!
I have found the walks really beneficial. I feel
so much better in myself Im fitter, Ive lost
weight and my Doctor is amazed at how much my
cholesterol and blood pressure has lowered
without taking tablets.
