Why Work with Men in Clinics
  • Training to service providers to work with male
    clients has been nonexistent
  • Until now providers have seen reproductive health
    primarily as a womans issue and therefore, RH
    training has focused on Ob/Gyn
  • Need for clinical training to address mens RH
    needs

  • MAP uses evidence-based approaches to increase
    mens involvement in RH.
  • Increasing mens support of their partners RH
    choices
  • Increasing mens awareness and behavior to
    safeguard the health of their partners and
    themselves, especially through the prevention of
    STIs

A Tool to Work with Men and For Men
  • The Mens RH Curriculum is designed to provide
    health care workers with the skills and
    sensitivity needed to work with male clients and
    provide mens RH services.
  • It can be used in a facility that is either
    initiating or expanding a male RH services
    program
