• Math owes it's existence to the absence of
  computer.  It's the man's hurry to solve a
  problem before it's time.  I personally has proof
  of that.  My doctoral thesis showed mathematical
  contamination in computer simulation of neutron
  transport.  And my advisor, Herbert Goldstein of
  the Classical Mechanics fame, admitted that my
  brand of science "made his blood boil".  In fact
  he even asked me if he should learn how to
  program a computer.  I told him just wait for the
  day programming would be as easy as talking. 
  Well, this type of old antiquated habits,like
  this unabated idolization of math, is keeping me
  from trivilize scienc, which has spearheaded the
  rape of culture by barbarism.Nature should be
  our basis for everything.  Chinese culture abides
  to this approach.  Western culture defied it. 
  The result is that the Chinese have concluded
  that, as in Tao De Ching, we are not supposed to
  understand Nature, but the West attacked Nature
  with its nonsensical fantasies and Godly
  gimicks.  Chinese culture limited itself to
  Nature and Nurture but Western science now
  became the last frontier of religion.So far the
  best physics could come up is, as in quantum
  mechanics, that detection of a phenomenon depends
  on the nature of the detector, which involve
  definitive uncertainty.  Well, don't they know
  that purely math derivations had taken us to the
  never-never land of fantasy by violating this
  truth?Science, like God, has about another
  century of life, or else.

• Joe Ching says, Math owes it's existence to the
  absence of computer.  It's the man's hurry to

  Joe on his view point. Before 1961, at U C
  Berkeley, all Engineering Ph. D candidates
  required to take advanced math. to help them
  develop analytical solution for engineering
  problems. For example, structural beam and
  vibration equations are limited to second order
  differential equations, because higher order
  differential equations are difficult or have no
  solution by mathematicians. If you have a
  recorded shock spectrum from earthquake, to
  describe the highly nonlinear curve is not
  possible by mathematicians and not hope to solve
  the equation in ones life time. Well, the
  digital computing came at the time to help.
  Engineering researchers can cut the recorded
  highly nonlinear earthquake shock curve by
  thousand times in a straight line approximation.
  I applied this approach to evaluate the first U S
  nuclear power plant, and the dynamic response of
  the building is within 5 of the experimental

  know that Professor Yu is an international
  mathematician, and has contributed many useful
  and important  invention in his profession,  He
  also expressed the way of his success, His
  Chinese knowledge is so exceptionally well as a
  research scientist, that is so respectful and
  admirable.  He is from Pui Ching too, I wonder
  why there are some successful persons from Pui
  Ching at the time of the 50's, and seems to be 
  rare at present.The Hong SE information centre
