Summary Update The Research Administration Infrastructure Ad Hoc Committee has met for the ninth time. The Committee is considering a comprehensive faculty and staff interviewing process covering RA and Infrastructure, inventorying and clarifying important roles and responsibilities, collecting and cataloging existing policies and procedures supporting these roles, and has plans to address training and education approaches UGA employs for supporting research administration at UGA The Research Administration Infrastructure Ad Hoc Committee has met for the ninth time. - A formal update on Committee progress will be
provided to the Provost, Executive VP for
Finance, and other senior officials at UGA. This
update will occur in February 19th. Materials
for the update have been drafted and are under
review. - The review of role and responsibility assignments
for those involved in research administration and
compliance functions is nearing completion.
Final Committee feedback will be sought once the
administrative committee members complete their
work on the future state version. A Summary of
Findings for the RR process has been drafted and
will be presented to the Committee. These same
materials will be shared with Sr. Leadership on
19 Feb. - Interview questions have been reviewed by
Committee members and will be used during Feb/Mar
interviews of faculty and staff. Interviews will
be followed by campus/focus group sessions. A
report of findings from these interviews will be
presented to the full committee. - 20 existing policies and procedures for high-risk
administration and compliance areas have been
inventoried and will undergo in-depth review by
Huron. Huron is working alongside UGA committee
members and a summary of Findings will be
provided to the Committee for review.
- The ninth meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee was
held 6 Feb. Committee time was spent discussing
the roster of randomized interviewees, updating
the process of reviewing roles, responsibilities,
policies, procedures, training, and education for
research administration at UGA. - Comprehensive faculty and staff interviews will
begin early March. Focus group sessions will
also be held as part of the process. Interview
questions have been formulated and Huron will
take the lead role in conducting the interviews.
Interviews will be complete by mid-March. - A role/responsibility matrix is in 4th-draft
stage. Administrative members of the Committee
are conducting final reviews and will present
findings to the Full Committee within 2 weeks. - Twenty policies and procedures supporting
research administration are under review by
Huron. Huron will return feedback and
recommendations to the appropriate policy
owners at UGA by mid-March. A Summary of
Findings will be provided to the Committee for
review.
