CIG New Rules
  • Rules were approved by CILIP Council Dec. 2003.
  • Came into effect on 1st April 2004.
  • Intention is to be more democratic and
    accountable.
  • Increases administrative burden on committee.
  • Special Interest Groups may admit non-members of
    CILIP.

Transitional provisions
  • Terms of office served before 1/4/2004 do not
    count towards the maximum terms under the new
    rules.
  • At the next meeting of the committee lots will be
    drawn to determine retirement dates from the
    committee, i.e. after 1,2 or 3 years.
  • Members so retiring are still elligible for
    re-election.
