Conclusion
  • Seismic reflection data indicates the presence of
    major sedimentary basins along continental
    margin.
  • Rift and pre-rift sediments are concentrated in a
    margin-parallel margin.
  • Seismic correlation indicates sediments are of
    Late Jurassic to mid-Cretaceous age with a
    thickness of 4-5 km.
  • Post-rift sediments are characterized by major
    regional unconformity.
  • Unconformity is thought to mark the onset of
    glaciation of East Antarctica, but no correlation
    found during this study.
  • Post-Middle Eocene section is much thicker than
    the underlying post-rift section due to high
    sediment influxes
