confusions)and DQM SHIFT TODO REMINDER
- T. Schörner-Sadenius
- Hamburg University
- CAL Meeting, 11 January 2005
2RECENT PROBLEMS and QUESTIONSMost required
actions from TSS/Wladimir/Alessandro.
- Keep in mind Up-to-date SOS-page reachable from
CAL home page. Look first there, then call
(especially in the night). - We will soon have check lists for all actions
(see last slide). Use them! - Problems
- No change_version after time offsets measurement
after access ? confusion. - Dying menelaus PC ? actions from AP,Kerstin, Ulf,
- Dying AJAX disk ? v3876 could not be used in
global/local? running for some time with bad
calibration took some hours to sort problem
out.? always install new version after
calibration and take local run with it! - B22 and B21 HV off ? mostly solved by instruction
crew on phone. - CAL timing shifted by 50ns in GSLT and TLT
histos ? CFLTP cable. - RCO GSLTltgtDC off sync, GSLT.DC.MISMATCH in
logfile ? CFLTP cable. - RCO GFLT component CAL keeping busy ? CFLTP
cable - Various power glitches ? switch everything back
on! - Please make use of ALL CAL_QUICK_CALIB runs that
are there and install (newcalconv,
change_version, change_version_main) the derived
calibration versions in chronological order!
3TODO SHIFT PERSONWe want to calibrate as often
as possible!
- Morning
- Read elog book entries. Anything unusual during
the night? Magnets off? In doubt call TSS. - Phone shift crew to find out about HERA plans. We
need bad channel update every day. ADC2VOLT and
FEC at least once a week. - Check last nights DQMCOC histos on the web
presenter. - Check the newly reconstructed runs in zmon (web
or cal_check). - Check ping page.
- Daily
- Take check-out runs using auto_checkout.sh.
- Bad channel update using auto_badchannel.sh.
- Uno scale factors using unocomp and updateUno.
- Take an SRTDFLT checkout run.
- Stay tuned to HERA conditions (RCO viewer)
calibration possibilities? - Evening
- Check DQMCOC histograms for the runs of the day.
- Check ping page.

4TODO SHIFT PERSONWe want to calibrate as often
as possible!
- Every week (at least)
- Do an auto_adc2volt.sh.
- Do a full calibration using auto_fec.sh.
- Do a trimming (using trimming in caw on
teucer). - Attend the components meeting on Monday at 11.
- Give your weekly shift report in the CAL
Wednesday meetings. Please bring always a bit
more than just naked numbers we should try to
make this an opportunity for education! - After an access / after magnets off
- After an access or after the magnets were off we
need a full calibration (after an access
including DU offsets and time offsets only in
presence of coordinator)! - Especially the DU offsets with the required
access to the HV and the complete lowering of the
HV of all modules is critical.
