General Points LQXB
  • LMQXB is the responsibility of Fermilab
  • MQXB quench and harmonics
  • Alignment MCBX
  • Bus work
  • Relative Alignment of the MQXBs
  • Mechanical alignment of interconnect pipes
  • MCBX comes to Fermilab already tested cold (its
    cold performance is not Fermilabs
    responsibility)
  • Cryostating of LMQXB
  • Reference LMQXB magnetic axis to LQXB fiducials

4
General Points LQXA,LQXC
  • MQXA is the responsibility of KEK/CERN
  • On arrival at Fermilab we perform mechanical
    inspections
  • Electrical checks prior to completing cold mass
  • Mechanical alignment of CERN-supplied correctors
  • Bus work
  • Correctors comes to Fermilab already tested cold
(its cold performance is not Fermilabs
    responsibility)
  • Cryostating of LMQXB
  • Reference LMQXB magnetic axis to LQXB fiducials
(2 cold, the rest warm only

LQXB Acceptance Plan Approved
  • Plan features
  • Local Approval Process
  • CERN Approval Process
  • CERN Supplied Material
  • US data transmitted to CERN
  • Outline of criteria and tests to be performed
    prior to acceptance
  • Ownership of equipment after approval
  • Tests to be performed at CERN on arrival and
    prior to final acceptance

6
Status of LQXB01 Acceptance
  • Local Fermilab MEB has met to discuss the
acceptance. Report has been written on
    exceptions to meeting acceptance requirements
  • Report has been sent electronically to Ranko
Ostojic, prior to submission to the CERN MEB
  • Fermilab has a proposed ID card. CERN (Ranko)
has reviewed the ID card has proposed changes.
We are still reviewing and negotiating the
    changes.
  • Magnetic measurement data has not yet been
transferred to CERN. This is expected soon.
  • Note LQXB03 has been tested, and is ready for
    final acceptance

7
What needs to be done to ship LQXB01
  • Finally electrical has been completed.
  • The form for the final electrical needs to be
    finalized
  • This form should be nearly identical to the form
used for the reception at CERN (prior to the
    final acceptance)
  • Shipping details are being finalized

8
Status of LQXA/C acceptance plan
  • Acceptance Plan for LQXA/C not yet written.
  • Should be a subset of the LQXB acceptance
requirements, focused on issues related to
completing the LMQX and the cryostated object.
(room temperature electricals will be performed
at Fermilab and should be performed at arrival at
    CERN)
  • Needs to be completed before the first LQXA is
    shipped to CERN
  • Need to discuss details of uploading KEK data to
    CERN database

9
Conclusion
  • Acceptance plan for LQXB approved
  • We are exercising the plan with the first (two)
    LQXB.
  • Reception tests are outlined in the Acceptance
plan. We need to provide details to CERN prior
    to magnet shipment.
  • We need to write plan for LQXA/C
