Snapshot Sampling
  • Multiple sites throughout a geographic area
    (county or watershed) are sampled within a short
    period of time (e.g., three hours).
  • Testing parameters vary depending on water
    quality issues/concerns in the area.
  • Monitoring sites selected by local organizing
    committee.
  • Frequency of monitoring varies.
  • Variety of individuals participate in the
    sampling, including IOWATER volunteers, local
    teachers and students, residents in the
    watersheds, Scout Troops, general public.
