1
American Red Cross and the Houston Rockets
2
When? Where? Who?
  • March 20, 2007
  • Toyota Center
  • Houston Rockets vs. Indiana Pacers

3
What does Red Cross have to do with Rocket
Basketball?
  • We are selling discounted tickets as a major
fundraising activity throughout the Houston area.
  • Every ticket sold sends 5 back to YOUR OWN CLUB.

4
How Much Are Tickets?
  • Black Level 19 (727 seats)
  • Blue Level 30 (275 seats)
  • Red Level 45 (121 seats)
  • These are remarkable seats for unbelievably cheap
    prices!

5
How Will Transactions Be Handled?
  • Purchases MUST be made through Cathy Veniegas,
Groups Sales Account Executive, not by online
    purchase
  • Contact her via
  • Phone 713-758-7231
  • Fax 713-758-7348
  • Email cathyv_at_rocketball.com
  • Tickets purchased up to 10 days before the game
will be mailed out all others must be picked up
    at Will Call.

6
Recording Data
  • Because purchases will be made by
    person-to-person purchase, purchasers MUST
    PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING INFO
  • Name of Student
  • School
  • This way, individuals will get credit for selling
    tickets

7
So Whats in It For Us?
  • Incentives are provided for those who sell the
    most tickets
  • Ball Exchange Top 5 sellers will be able to get
on the court during player intros. Each person
receives an autographed ball from one of the
    players
  • Benchwarmers Next top 10 sellers get to sit on
    Rockets bench during warm ups.
  • 5 Special Recognition Awards for Tunnel Cheering

8
Incentives By School
  • Top 5 schools, 5 people each, get to stand in the
tunnel during Pre-Game or Half Time, cheering on
our team as they prepare to kick butt on the
    court.
  • School that sells more than 500-1000 tickets will
be recognized on the court at half time.
  • This promotes teamwork throughout the school as a
group to get out there and fundraise. Remember,
the money goes back to help YOUR SCHOOL.

9
How to I Sell Tickets?
  • Selling tickets is relatively easy. Below are
some ideas as to how to get started.
  • Family
  • Friends
  • Neighbors
  • Have Your Parents Put Up a Flyer in the Lunch
    Room at Work

10
What We Need From Officers
  • To keep track of names and number of tickets
sold, it is VITAL for all clubs to TURN IN
    MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION ASAP. Include Name,
    School, Email, and Grade.
  • Throughout the course of the fundraiser, Melvin
and I will send out weekly emails saying who is
selling the most tickets at that point. Please
use this information to cheer on your club and
    promote a little healthy competition.

11
Questions? Comments? Concerns?
  • Please feel free to ask any of the YSCB members
if you have any questions. Email or phone
communication works great. We will also be
available throughout the night to help anyone who
    may come up with anything.
