Who am I?

• Nichole Murray
• CSULB BA in Spanish Language Linguistics
• MA in Teaching Educational Technology
• Studied in Costa Rica
• Started teaching at MHS in 2000
• Husband Alex 4 year old son Evan

What do students do in class?

• Whole group discussions to teach and review key
  concepts
• Reading writing activities with guided
  practices
• Paired/small group activities so that all
  students are actively engaged in learning
• Listening activities with an audio and video
  program

How are students graded?

• Homework 4x/week (calendar collected each
  month)
• Class work
• Participation
• Quizzes weekly
• Tests 1 per unit (every 3-4 weeks)
• Projects
• Oral presentations

How can students prepare for exams?

• Study flashcards several times a week.
• Practice spelling all words.
• Practice making definitions or synonyms for
  vocabulary.
• Go to the textbook website (www.phschool.com) to
  complete additional practices, games, online
  self-tests.
• Take careful grammar notes and review these along
  with the grammar points in the book.

• Practice grammar (verb drills -

  textbook activities, or see me for more
  handouts).
• See me during tutorial or after school for
  additional help or explanation.
• Visit the Career Center to find a Spanish tutor.
