Motivation

• MS-SPRing is widely deployed in SDH/SONET
  networks to provide HA in transport plane
• Some issues need to be addressed when applying
  GMPLS on the MS-SPRing transport networks

Scope

• Describe the GMPLS requirements and applicability
  for setting up of LSPs in a/multiple MS-SPRing
  network
• Also cover setting up of LSPs with end-to-end
  recovery or segment recovery capability
• Only consider how to run GMPLS over a data plane
  that includes NEs participating in MS-SPRing
• Controlling or emulating MS-SPRing using GMPLS
  are out of scope
