Introduction
  • Marketing and legal principles are two very
    important aspects of any profession.
  • The subject is taught from an engineering
    perspective and aims at introducing students of
    computer science and engineering to marketing and
    legal principles.
  • Practicing scientists and engineers must be aware
    of the impact of marketing and legal aspects on
    their business and field of practice.
  • ELE 31MEL is a core subject for 3rd year students
    of Department of Computer Science Computer
    Engineering.
  • ELE 41EMT is a core subject for 4th year students
    of Department of Electronic Engineering (this
    subject forms part of ELE 41EMT).

  • After the successful completion of this subject,
    the student shall be able to
  • define and communicate requirements for marketing
    and legal services to professionals in these
    fields.

General Aim
  • Introduce marketing as a force in society and
    business.
  • Show that marketing is an exchange process that
    is carried out in both not-for-profit and
    business dealings.
  • This exchange process is performed by
    organisations as well as individuals
