What Actually Happened(first wave)

• 53,000 patients mailed initially (20 of Bolton
  population).
• 1035 requests for additional information Care
  Record Guarantee and leaflets.
• 164 calls to the Information Line.
• 198 local consultations at information sessions.
• 121 patients wanted to opt out 93C3 (0.23).
• No patients wanted to talk to their GP
  specifically about the SCR dedicated
  appointment slots were not used.
• Patients were interested in seeing the Summary
  Care Record in action and benefited from a
  demonstration at the information sessions.

What the Patients Said -

• Over 200 patients were asked at the Practices
  about the information they had received.
• Patients were happy with the information being
  provided.
• Patients thought that records were already being
  shared electronically.
• Patients wanted to know why electronic sharing
  had not been in place before.
• Main area of concern was security.
• Patients were very keen on accessing records
  through HealthSpace.
