SRDR Data Elements
  • The SRDR DID prescribes data elements that must
    be submitted
  • DI-MGMT-81739 (Initial Developer Report)
  • DI-MGMT-81740 (Final Developer Report)
  • Some data elements, like sizing and effort, can
    be tailored to reflect the contractors internal
    metric and accounting methods
  • But unlike CCDRs, the SRDR DID does not prescribe
    the use of a formatted data form No more DD

  • For some elements such as requirements count and
    code size, units of measure are not prescribed
    and shall reflect the contractors unit of measure

Scope of Data
  • If reporting event is contract start or contract
    end, then the scope of the SRDR data must reflect
    the entire development effort
  • If the reporting event is increment start or
    increment end, then the scope of the SRDR data
    must reflect that specific increment only

Tailoring Restrictions
  • Contractors must ensure that their code
    partitions
  • Do not double count
  • When summed, reflect total delivered size
  • Equivalent New Source Lines of Code (ESLOC) and
    Delivered Source Lines of Code (DSLOC) are not
    permitted
  • Alternative sizing metrics (such as Function
    Points) are permitted, but must be used as a
    consistent measure between the Initial Developer
    Report and the Final Developer Report

  • SRDR will reflect actuals for Build 1 complete

know it only contains a portion of the complete
software development activities that comprise
total software development

Reporting Sub-Contractor Effort
  • DID Section 3.4.3 requires contractors to report
    the software development effort of all their
    sub-contractors
  • But the DID, does not require primes to report
    effort discretely by sub-contractor
  • If the details arent known (i.e. prime does not
    know subs effort by activity), then the prime
    must report the total effort and identify what
    activities are included in the total effort in
    the SRDR Data Dictionary

What is the SRDR Data Dictionary?
  • A document which explains data definitions and
    any details required to correctly interpret the
    information provided in the SRDR
  • The dictionary can be a separate document file or
    it can be embedded within the SRDR itself
    (example A separate dictionary tab within an
    SRDR Excel file)
  • Every SRDR submission must be accompanied by a
    SRDR data dictionary
  • Failure to submit an adequate dictionary will
    result in a rejection of the entire SRDR
    submission

    compatible format?
  • Have multiple software elements been combined
    into one SRDR file?
  • Has information been provided for all data
    fields?
  • Have SRDRs been provided for every WBS element
    requiring SRDRs?
  • Does the data in the SRDR reflect proper scope?
    (i.e. Data for Increment Start/Finish should
    reflect that increment only)
  • Does the SRDR reference the appropriate reporting
    event?
  • Does the SRDR reference an appropriate WBS from
    the DD 2794?
  • Did the SRDR use appropriate sizing metrics (not
    DSLOC or ESLOC)?
  • Does the sizing data, when summed, reflect
    delivered size?
  • Did the SRDR report mandatory sizing categories?
