  • Myth Employee Relations always looks out for the
    interests of the management.
  • Fact We are neither management sympathizers nor
    employee advocates. Our responsibility is to
    ensure that we hear both sides of an issue,
    determine the facts, and make recommendations for
    action that are in the best interests of the
    manager, employee, and university.

  • Myth Employee Relations does not maintain the
    confidentiality of university employees.
  • Fact Confidentiality is not guaranteed in all
    situations. Employee issues are kept confidential
    to the extent appropriate and possible. Some
    information may be shared on a need-to-know
    basis.
