What is SCA Ltd
  • Previously membership organisation run by
    volunteers
  • Formed in 1990 from Surrey Rest Homes Assoc,
    Nursing Homes Association and Domiciliary Care
    Association
  • 50 of providers were members
  • Vision representing all social care providers in
    Surrey
  • No membership fees, open to all
  • Become a member with a 1 liability for
    governance
  • On 19th July 2005 unanimous vote to form a
    limited not for profit company
  • 1st September 2005 - SCA Ltd was born

Our vision
  • Surrey Care Association strengthened to support
    social care providers in Surrey registered care
    providers and supported living providers.
  • New governance arrangements to widen care
    provider involvement and extend networks.
    Established as a limited company. Appointment of
    Chief Executive Officer from 1st September 2005.
  • Focus of activity workforce, business and
    market development.
  • Communication and information to the independent
    (including voluntary) social care providers.
  • Key funding partners supporting the development
    of the Association Surrey County Council
    (Adults and Community Care), Surrey Learning and
    Skills Council and Skills for Care (Surrey and
    Surrey/Sussex Learning Resource Centre
    Network).100K in 2005/06.
  • Partnerships with other key agencies CSCI,
    Business Link, Surrey University, Next Steps,
    Surrey Economic Business Partnership, CoVe to
    support development activities

Our vision
  •  The main roles of the association will be
  • Represent independent care sector views including
    broadening its remit to all social care
    providers.
  • Work towards sustaining the viability of Care
    businesses in Surrey
  • Appoint representatives to work in partnership
    with the Local Authorities and statutory sector
  • Report back from any meetings at which views are
    presented
  • Provide a network for care providers to work
    together in ways which are mutually beneficial
    and to promote these services
  • Promote workforce development and broker funding
    streams
  • Provide a support service to independent care
    providers in line with the aims of the
    association.
  • Act as voice of Independent care sector employers
    in Surrey and to contribute to regional and where
    appropriate national networks
  • Influence provision of services to support
    workforce and business development
  • Communicate and inform care providers of key
    strategic, business and workforce issues
