How are the UND Police dispatched?

• The UND Police are dispatched using the Grand
  Forks PSAP.
• That includes all emergency and non-emergency
  calls for service.
• The UND Police Dept. does also receive calls from
  the UND Facilities Communication Center. These
  calls usually pertain to the buildings. If they
  should receive a fire alarm, or any emergency
  call, they forward it to PSAP for immediate
  dispatch.

How long does it take UPD officers to arrive on
the scene?

• The UND Police Departments jurisdiction is
  roughly one square mile of area, so it doesnt
  take long for officers to respond.
• On average, it might take officers about two or
  three minutes, (if not less) but that is
  subjective to
• Time of day
• Weather conditions
• Number of calls for service that are holding
• Priority of call

available?

• The UND Police Dept. has in its inventory
• Chemical suits
• Gas Masks
• The UND Police Dept. also has equipment available
  from the UND Safety Office, to include
• Incident Response Command Trailer
• Haz-Mat Response Utility Trailer
• Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
• Portable generator and lights
• Misc. clean up equipment and tools
