Title: Material flow control with customized rotary valves for specialized applications

1
Material flow control with customized rotary
valves for specialized applications
Introduction Efficient material handling is
essential for smooth industrial operations in
sectors like pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food and
others. Customized rotary valves play a key role
in controlling material flow, ensuring precise
transfer tailored to factors like viscosity and
particle size variations. Especially in
specialized applications where standard solutions
prove insufficient, these valves optimize
material flow, ensuring operational efficiency,
preventing cross-contamination, and upholding
product quality.
Material flow in industries the role of rotary
valves
Controlled discharge is vital in industrial
processes. To achieve optimal efficiency, it's
crucial to consider material characteristics such
as bulk density, particle size, flowability and
abrasiveness, requiring adaptable material flow
control mechanisms at each processing stage.

Aishin Japan's Rotor Types for Efficient Material
Handling
Aishin Japan, a leading company in material
handling, powder processing, and transfer,
emphasizes excellence and innovation. With a
strong history of supplying over 300,000 bulk
handling equipment to different industries,
automating production, and saving energy, our
commitment to innovation and engineering
expertise has produced high-performance equipment
that meets the changing needs of the industry.
The valves operate on a rotary motion principle,
featuring a rotor rotating inside a cylindrical
housing carrying material in each rotor blade
and discharging as it rotates. Our Unique rotary
airlock valve is designed to optimize material
flow in manufacturing processes while keeping
intact the vacuum preventing leakages. Sanitary
design ensures easy, dismantling, cleaning and
assembly of rotary valve in turn reducing
downtime and productivity. Aishin Japan is a one
stop solution for diverse range of rotary valves
and rotor types suitable for efficiently handling
powder, granules, and sticky materials across
various industries. The adaptability of these
valves addresses the dynamic challenges posed by
changing material characteristics, making them a
reliable choice for specialized applications.
Types of rotors
Helical H Type
  • Blades are twisted in the rotor's rotation
    direction.
  • Continuous discharge of powder and granular
materials, more efficient than straight blades.
  • Minimal clogging of powder and granular materials
    compared to straight blades.
  • Reduced blade seals with the case compared to
straight blades, slight decrease in air-tightness.

3
Double-helical WH Type
  • Rotor with blades twisted in V shape in the
    direction of rotor rotation
  • Powder and granular clogging in the case blades
is less compared to straight blades
  • Finally clogging is less due to combination with
    clogging prevention shoot

Upper-bottom R Type
  • A type where the rotor inner cylinder is larger
than the standard, which results in rotor volume
    re-suction.
  • Adopt, when required discharge efficiency is less
    with respect to connected caliber.
  • As the powder and granular part is shallow,
flaking of powder and granular material at the
time of discharge is comparatively good.

Zigzag T Type
  • Pocket structure in which filling chamber is
divided in multiple shaft directions and which
has phase difference in the direction of
    rotation.
  • Use , when continued amount of supply is required
    for weighing devices.
  • Not suitable for sticky powders or granules due
to the larger pocket wall area.

Round-bottom S Type
  • Structure where R is designed in such a way that
there are no angles at the bottom of the rotors
    powder and granular filling part.
  • Effective in improvement of peel ability of
    powder and granular.

4
Steel-ball B Type
  • Structure where baffle plate and steel ball is
    designed in rotor inner cylinder.
  • Steel ball moves upward and downward in
    repetition depending on rotor rotation.

Open O Type
  • Rotor which do not have side wells at both ends
    of blade.
  • As the clearance of case should be with blade
front end and blade both side ends, it is
necessary to control clearance in circumferential
    direction and shaft direction.
  • Powder and granular residue is less, as the
stuffing box inner surface is exposed inside the
    line.

Pocket P Type
  • Rotor with side wells on both ends of blade.
  • Control of clearance only for circumferential
direction, as the clearance with the case is end
of blade and side wall circumference.
  • As there is a space partitioned by stuffing box
and side well, take proper care so that powder
    should not get stuck internally.
  • It is suitable for shaft seal protection, as
shaft seal is separated from the line for powder
    and granular flow.

Single-pocket OP Type
  • Rotor with side walls for blade single end.
  • Clearance of case should be by blade ends, side
wall circumference and open side blade end.
  • Sanitary type etc controls side wall on drive
side, protects shaft seal and also make
maintenance easy as open door side.

5
Molded-rubber F Type
  • Casting rubber rotor.
  • Initial sealing performance is high, as it
rotates while in contact with the case.
  • Rotor is generally dealt as consumable and is
ideal for powders with low wearing resistance.
  • As rubber wears out, there is a possibility of
small amount mixing in powder and granular line.
  • Easy to clog and possibility of discharge of
    undefined material.

All-resin L Type
  • Resin integrated cutting rotor.
  • Material compliance as per your specification
such as Teflon, ultra-high molecular weight
    polyethylene etc.

Rubber-chip TU Type
  • Metal rotors end of the blade equipped with
    rubber tip.
  • Use for larger size rotor that cannot be covered
    by molded rubber rotor.
  • Tip part is a contact seal and has high initial
    air tightness.
  • Replacement of tip and adjustment possible for
    cutting edge clearance.

Metal-chip TS Type
  • Metal rotors end of the blade equipped with
    metal tip.
  • Applicable in case of tip differing from rotor
    material.
  • Replacement of tip and adjustment possible for
    cutting edge clearance.
