1Style Tips for Your Hair Type and How You Can
Keep It Healthy!
2INTRO
Your natural hair type deserves some love. Sure,
its
super fun to experiment with heat styling and to
achieve amazing results, but its also great
embrace your natural beauty and let your natural
- texture shine. However, we know that getting
natural hair to look as good as styled hair
isnt exactly easy. - Styling techniques for your hair is just the tip
of the iceberg. To make sure that your hair
really looks good au natural, it needs to be
healthy first. Thats why weve created this
simple guide for every hair type on how you can
style your natural hair and keep it looking and
feeling good.
3Straight Hair
Straight hair is easy to detangle and style.
Wash and wear is typically achievable with
straight hair. However, there are times when it
tends to look limp or flat. When that happens,
spritz on some dry shampoo and texturizing spray
to bring back some of the volume. It will frame
your face better and keep your hair looking
bouncy and healthy. Texturizing sprays and dry
shampoos tend to build up on the scalp and hair.
You can use a sulfate-free, purifying shampoo to
cleanse the products and excess sebum from your
hair and scalp.
4WAVY HAIR
Wavy hair is a little trickier to style because
on one hand, it can look glamorous and amazing
or it can look like an inconsistent, frizzy mess.
The goal is to keep the frizz down and give each
wave definition so that everything looks
consistent. Do this by styling your hair damp and
wrapping your waves around your brush (careful
not to tangle and make sure to brush out knots
first!). Now scrunch each section with some curl
defining products and minimize frizz with gel.
Finish off by drying your hair with a diffuser.
Now youve got consistent waves that look
professionally done!
5Curly
Curly hair looks absolutely fabulous when you
style it right. For this hair type,
the goal is to enhance shine, infuse more
moisture in, and keep those curls
defined. Unlike wavy hair, your curls will
already be pretty consistent and form into
perfect little ringlets. However, curly hair can
be pretty dry and the ringlets
can frizz up and separate. The trick is to help
those curl clumps stay together and hydrate them
as much as possible. For curly hair, make sure
that you style your hair when it is still wet.
You should be hearing a squish sound when you
scrunch your hair and thats how youll know that
your locks still have enough water. If not, take
a spray bottle and wet your hair again. To style
your hair, scrunch in some mousse, leave-in
conditioner, and curl cream for hydration and
definition. After that, lock everything in place
with a light-hold gel. Blow dry with the
diffuser attachment and scrunch out the gel cast
when its 80 dry. Finish off with a
shine-enhancing serum or some hair oil. Curly
hair is naturally a drier texture than straight
and wavy hair. This means that you shouldnt
wash your hair all that often and you wont need
to anyway. Since curly hair is prone to dryness,
you should only wash when absolutely necessary.
However, due to the amount of products that are
used to style curly hair, deep cleansing should
also be done once in a while to clear the
buildup. For regular use, you can go for a
moisturizing shampoo and for deep cleaning, go
for a purifying shampoo..
