Father Luke Melackrinos Has Maintained a
Continuity of Faith and Love with the Apostolic
Community

Father Luke Melackrinos was ordained to the Holy
Priesthood on the feastday of St. Kosmas of
Aitolos in 2003 (August 24) by Metropolitan
Gerasimos at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St.
Paul. He has maintained a continuity of faith and
love with the apostolic community. Fr Luke
Melackrinos graduated in 2003 from the Holy Cross
Greek Orthodox School of Theology. He was
ordained to the Diaconate on March 31, 2002 by
Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco at the
Greek Orthodox Church of St. George in Bethesda,
Maryland.

Father Luke Melackrinos is a spiritual leader who
helps youth and adults of today by guiding and
advising them through the difficulties of their
life. He is currently serving on the Youth and
Young Adults Committees of the Archdiocesan
Council and the Direct Archdiocesan District
Council as an adviser on Young Adult ministries.

Many vibrant Christ-centered ministries were
initiated and re-initiated under the guidance of
Father Luke Melackrinos at the Cathedral of St.
Paul. Some of them are St. Paul's Nursery School-
to care and educate three to four years children
based outside New York City Vacation Church
School- which embraces the teachings and
traditions of Orthodox Christianity and the
Little Angles Program- that provides preschool
classes for toddlers, 2, 3 4 year olds.

Father Luke Melackrinos is married to Marusia
(Podhurec) the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox
priest. Marusia has a Masters Degree in Guidance
and Counseling and is full time mother to Eleni,
Magdalena, and Mia. Luke Melackrinos with his
entire family rejoices the community of St. Paul
and feeds the needy in New York every week.
