lecture entitled "When Fashion and Art Collide."

intersection between these two distinct yet

Wild West Weekend July 8th 9th 11 a.m. 5
p.m. Ushers Ferry Historic Village Each day
features some of our favorite old-fashioned
family games such as the straw hunts and sack
races. The Kishwaukee Valley Vigilance Committee
out of Rockford, IL. will be on hand to give
children tips on what it takes to be a cowboy.
The little cowpokes may also want to dig out
their spurs, six shooters to help us round up
some of Ushers Ferry's most notorious outlaws
during the Bounty Hunt at 400 PM each day. For
those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth, the
Ushers Ferry Ladies Aid Society Pie auction will

13th 16th 700 p.m. The Fantasticks, the
longest-running musical comedy in the world,
brings together two fathers who pretend to feud
in order to coax their children into falling in
love. The fathers create a plot that involves the
starry-eyed boy rescuing the girl next door from

in love the plot twists, inciting a highly

Thursday, July 13th 12 1 p.m. African
American Historical Museum Library As Iowas
oldest industrial city Dubuque made the national
headlines when there was a sudden eruption of
hate crimes aimed particularly at African
American residents during the 1989-1991 period.
Subsequently a group of concerned citizens
devised a controversial five-year racial
diversity program known as Constructive
Integration Plan to attract one hundred "families
of color" to Dubuque, but failed to achieve their
objectives due to a lack of community support.
