• Area submits proposal to Associate Director of
  RML
• RML forwards proposal to NLM after considering

• An institutional commitment to create and
  continue the site?
• At least a half-time salaried person to
  coordinate the project?
• Staff to do outreach and publicity?
• Staff to index and maintain the local records
  with the vocabulary and geographic mapping?
• Staff to handle customer questions?
• An existing Web site or database to serve as a
  starting point?

how Me the Money

• One-time funding of up to 25,000 per project are
  available from NN/LM for
• NN/LM Full Members
• NN/LM Affiliate Members must
• Partner with a Full Member, or
• Have a health sciences librarian working on the
  project.
• Funding requests must follow, or be accompanied
  by, a full Go Local proposal

Use funds for.

• Programming and computer support for mapping of
  an already existing system to MedlinePlus
  (Missouri model).
• Selection and entering of materials into NLM or
  locally hosted database, including personnel
  costs, excluding half-time staff requirements, to
  perform these activities such as consultants,
  administrative support staff, selectors, etc.
• Outreach and promotion including personnel and
  travel costs to perform these activities.
• Supplies and communications costs.

  used to help link an existing local database)
