Introduction
  • Religious life like a saling-boat pushed by the
    wind of the Spirit
  • The question
  • Where is the Spirit leading the Consecrated Life?
  • What opportunities is the Spirit offering us for
    our growth, innovation and refoundation?

5
FOUNDATIONJesus our contemporary and the Holy
Spirit
6
Jesus, our contemporary
  • Jesus Christ, our Risen Lord, the Mediator of
the New Covenant and of the Kingdom, is our
contemporary. He does not belong to the past
    (Instrumentum Laboris, n.1).

7
Jesus, our contemporary
  • I have said these things to you while I am still
    with you.
  • But the Advocate (para/klhtoj), the Holy Spirit,
whom the Father will send in my name, will teach
you everything, and remind you of all that I have
    said to you.
  • Do not let your hearts be troubled 'I am going
away, and I am coming to you. (John 1425-29).

8
Dilemma what kind of Spirit or spirits are
moving us?
  • The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear
the sound of it, but you do not know where it
comes from or where it goes. So it is with
everyone who is born of the Spirit (John 38)
  • We should be cautious when we try to answer to
the question where is the Spirit leading the
    Consecrated Life?
  • Very easily we could attribute to the Holy Spirit
that what belongs to bad spirits.
  • The rules of discernment have to be followed now
    more than in the past.

9
Criterion of discernment
  • It comes from the Spirit of God everything that
    impels us to become
  • Living memory of Jesus (John 1426)
  • Community of different persons and charisms (2
    Cor 13,13)
  • Women and men moved by a creative and
    transforming imagination (Creator Spirit) (Gen
    12).
