Geography
Puerto Rico is divided into three geographical
areas Central interior mountain ranges, northern
karst, and the coastal plains.
Most of Puertos tropical rainforests are gone
and they have plants that grow nowhere in the
U.S. Some flowers are orchids and poinsettias.
They have few wild animals
including bats, snakes, lizards, birds
and small frogs.

Climate and Weather
Warm and sunny most of the year. Temperature
has never reached below 70 degrees or above 97
degrees in the city of San Juan. Winds blow
from the east and control the heat. Dry season
is from December to March Hurricanes usually
occur between August and October.

Relationship Within Places
The main fields of employment are electronics,
textiles, petrochemicals, processed foods and
clothing. Sugar and livestock production are also
common.
Very few natural resources. Some stone, fish,
copper and nickel are used for on and off-shore
crude oil.
Budget cuts from the U.S. have made the Puerto
Rican economy suffer - it relies on mainly
Federal Aid from the U.S.

Movement
1/3 the population is located in the San Juan-
Carolina- Bayamon metropolitan area They use
telephones, and normal means of
transportation/communication to communicate with
each other. The traditions and customs are
passed down by generation to generation by the
parents having a tradition in their house, and
their kids having those same morals when they
move away-thus the cycle continues.
Boats, planes, and other normal means of
transportation are used to transport goods and
people from one area to another. A passport is
not needed to get to Puerto Rico if you are from
the US. Within the country, simple means of
transportation are used such as cars, walking,
biking etc.
