Advising Who is my advisor?
Menu
Students admitted to the LIS program are assigned
faculty advisors (Visions students do not have an
assigned advisor). When you are accepted to
the program you receive a letter of acceptance
which includes the name of your advisor. It is
your responsibility to contact your advisor as
soon as possible so that you may formulate a plan
of study for completion of the degree. If you
do not know who your advisor is, please contact
Lee Shiflett or the department secretary
(336.334.3477). To obtain contact information

Internships How can I get practical experience?

Menu
UNCGs Jackson Library has an Internship Program
in their Reference Department. Becoming an intern
is a great way for qualified applicants to gain
valuable library experience while making a (very)
little extra money. Weekly training sessions
enhance the experience. Typically, interns work
between 10 and 15 hours per week and scheduling
is flexible. New interns are hired each semester
(but not during the summer) and application
screening usually begins a couple months before
the start of the semester. Steve Cramer,
Reference Librarian, directs the program.
