Title: Global Warming

1
Global Warming
  • Nothing is scarier than this.

2
What is global warming?
  • Global warming is a process of heating up the
    Earth.
  • This is also known as the greenhouse effect
because its effect is like a greenhouse. Just
like a greenhouse, global warming doesnt make
heat but instead, they trap the heat given by the
    sun.
  • It is cause by some gases in the Earth that we
created. Global warming is caused by us.
  • There are lots of consequences that were cause by
these gases that can and definitely affect the
    Earth, animals and us.
  • There are lots of gases that cause Global warming
these 4 were the deadliest. They are called CO2,
    CFC, CH4 and nitrogen oxide.
  • Global warming creates stronger hurricanes,
temperatures will rise causing Glaciers to melt
raising the sea level and there are more chances
for each animal to be extinct
  • In august 2005, hurricane Katrina slammed into
the islands. That is the beginning of the period
    of consequences.

3
How to make global warming?
  • They created a layer around the Earth
  • Some heat from the sun cant even touch the
surface of the Earth but some is able to
  • The heat will bounce of the surface and out into
space but some heat will be trapped in like a man
    in a prison
  • As time goes by, more and more heat will be
trapped thus, making the Earths temperature raise

4
CO2
  • The full name for CO2 is Carbon dioxide. Carbon
dioxide is the most common greenhouse gas in
    earth.
  • It is created by deforestation because the trees
release carbon after it is cut up and trees
breathe in carbon dioxide to make oxygen. Without
    trees, we wont survive.
  • It can also be created by factories because they
use fossil fuels. That means they burn old stuff
like coal to make things for us like electricity.
If we do that, huge amounts of Carbon dioxide
    will be released.
  • It damages the ozone layer so more heat will come
in which means more UV rays will go to Earth that
    will cause skin cancer.
  • It makes a barrier with the other gases around
the Earth to trap heat. This is why the
    temperature is rising.

5
Methane
  • Methane is also a type of greenhouse gas
  • It came from waste dumps
  • Just like CO2, it damages the ozone layer
  • Methane is a very attractive fuel because of its
    clean burning process
  • Methane can be found in the crusts of the Earth
  • Methane is not toxic but its flammable and can be
    dangerous
  • When averaged over a hundred years, each Kg of
methane is 23 times as much as the same mass of
    carbon dioxide.

6
CFC
  • CFC is also a greenhouse gas
  • CFC is different because as it damages the ozone
layer, it stays there in the atmosphere and keeps
damaging it while the other gases will wear off
  • We get CFCs by refrigerators and aerosols.
  • CFC are haloalkane of chlorines and fluorine.

7
Nitrogen Oxide
  • Nitrogen oxide is the last of the greenhouse
    gases
  • Nitrogen oxide come from cars
  • It is a colorless and inflammable gas
  • Nitrogen oxide can also be known as laughing gas
  • Per unit of weight, Nitrogen oxide is 296 times
    the effect of CO2
  • Nitrogen oxide also damages the ozone layer,
causing more UV rays to go into Earth.

8
What do we do to stop global warming?
  • Global warming is a very hard thing to stop
  • If we stop global warming, we will have less
food, less efficiency, less speed, less
competitions, less resources and less fun
  • We cant stop global warming. The onl thing we
can do is to reduce it.
  • Use more bikes, eat less, recycle so theres less
factories and use natural energy like solar, wind
and hydro energy to generate electricity instead
of using fossil fuels to make them
