Ephesus
  • The capital of Ionia, a celebrated city of Asia
Minor. Conspicuous at the head of the harbor of
Ephesus was the great temple of Diana or Artemis.
It was chiefly celebrated for the worship and
temple of Diana, which last was, accounted one of
the seven wonders of the world.

9
"I am the Mother without spouse, the Original
Mother all are my children,
"Mother of All"
Diana, Artemis, Isis and Inanna - Queen of
heaven, Magna Mater, the Great Goddess
10
  • Christs Mother, The Black Madonna is
worshiped throughout Europe of all places
  • The most sacred icons of the Catholic Church are
the Black Madonna and Christ child, which are
found in Europes most venerated shrines and
cathedrals. Each year, hundreds of thousands of
    European pilgrims ritually humble themselves
before the image of Black Mary and her child
Jesus at Black Madonna sites throughout France,
Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Portugal and
other Catholic countries. Many Black Madonna
statues have the black paint literally kissed off
    of their hands and feet.

ISIS AND HORUS
  • Historians recognize that the statue of the
Egyptian Goddess Isis with her child Horus in her
arms was the first Madonna and Child. They were
renamed Mary and Jesus when Europe was forcibly
Christianized. The worship of Isis and Horus was
    especially popular in ancient Rome.

  • Eph.28 For by grace are you saved through faith
and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God
    .
  • Eph.411 And he gave some, apostles and some,
prophets and some, evangelists and some,
pastors and teachers12 For the perfecting of the
saints, for the work of the ministry, for the
edifying of the body of Christ

19
  • Eph.53 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or
covetousness, let it not be once named among you,
as becomes saints 4 Neither filthiness, nor
foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not
convenient but rather giving of thanks.
  • 5 For this you know, that no fornicator, nor
unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an
idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of
    Christ and of God.

20
  • Eph.610 Finally, my brothers, be strong in the
Lord, and in the power of his might.
  • 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be
able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
  •  12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
    but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.

21
  •  Not only did the temple bring vast numbers of
pilgrims to the city, but it employed hosts of
people apart from the priests and priestesses
among them were the large number of artisans who
manufactured images of the goddess Diana, or
shrines to sell to the visiting strangers.

22
  •  Paul on his 2nd missionary journey in Acts
(1819-21) first visited the city, and when, on
    his 3rd journey (198-10 2031), he remained
there for two years preaching in the synagogue
(198, 10), in the school of Tyrannus (199) and
in private houses (2020). Though Paul was
probably not the first to bring Christianity to
Ephesus, for Jews had long lived there (29
69), he was the first to make progress against
    the worship of Diana.

23
Characteristic of the Apostolic Church
  • Acts 431-35
  • Acts 176
  • Acts 184

24
  • Rev22 I know your works, and your labor, and
your patience, and how you can not bear them
which are evil and you have tried them which say
they are apostles, and are not, and have found
    them liars
  •  3 And have borne, and have patience, and for my
name's sake have labored, and have not fainted.
  • 4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against you,
because you have left your first love.

25
  • 5 Remember therefore from where you are fallen,
and repent, and do the first works or else I
will come to you quickly, and will remove your
candlestick out of his place, except you
repent. 6 But this you have, that you hate the
deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also
hate. 7 He that has an ear, let him hear what the
    Spirit said to the churches

26
  • The doctrine of the Nicolaitans of the 2d cent.
seem to have continued and extended the views of
the 1st-cent. adherents, holding to the freedom
of the flesh, and teaching that the deeds of the
flesh had no effect upon the health of the soul
and consequently no relation to salvation. One is
free from the Law through grace.
  • Once saved always saved.
  • Eternal security

27
  • Rev.27 He that has an ear, let him hear what the
Spirit said to the churches To him that
overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life,
which is in the middle of the paradise of God.

28
7 He that has an ear, let him hear what the
Spirit said to the churches To him that
overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life,
which is in the middle of the paradise of God.
