  is a core difference. When you outsource a

1. Confidential details of the company can be
   leaked.
2. Copyright problems as designers often submit the
   same design in different crowdsourcing
   competitions.
3. Too many designs can cause confusion at the time
   of final selection.
4. Mainly newbie designers and freelancers
   participate in crowdsourcing projects. Hence, the
   design quality is bound to be poor than an
   experienced artist.

Why is it Still Popular?

• Small companies often dont have the money to
  hire famous graphic designers and crowdsourcing
  is a boon for them. Designers are also aware of
  the fact that only winner will get the prize
  money, but the competition in this market is so
  tough that they simply dont bother as long as
  there is an opportunity to win.
