Shikshapatri Shlok 1
  • The Shikshapatri was written in the Hari Mandap
in Vadtal by Lord Swaminarayan on Vasant Panchmi
Maha Sud 5, (VS 1882) or 11 February (AD 1826)
    Shlok 211
  • The first ten Shlokas, provides a introduction
to the Shikshapatri and therefore is the very
essence of what the Shikshapatri is and its
    objective.
  • Lord Swaminarayan, in his first Shloka performs
Manglacharan of Lord Shree Krishna. He meditates
on the very form of Shree Krishna.  Thus, Lord
Swaminarayan extols his deep devotion, faith and
    worship for Lord Shree Krishna.

Shikshapatri Shlok 1
  • Lord Shree Krishna - Incarnation of Lord
    Vishnu.
  • Birth place Mathura - 19th July (3228 BC)
  • Father Vasudeva , mother Devki, adopted mother
Jasodha Yasoda and adopted farther Nanda
  • The term Krishna in Sanskrit has the literal
meaning of "black" or "dark", and is used as a
name to describe someone with a dark skin
    complexion. The Brahma Samhita describes
Krishna's complexion as being "tinged with the
    hue of blue clouds",
  • Radhikaji - One of Lord Shree Krishna many
    gopis but favourite eternal consort.
  • The Padma Purana describes 18,000 cowherd-girls
(gopis) among whom it says 108 are the most
important. Among those 108, eight are considered
more important still, and among the eight, two
have a special position - Candravali and
Radharani. Between the two, the Padma Purana
tells us that Sri Radha is the foremost and
without Her presence no one of the other gopis
can really satisfy Krishna. In the Bhagavata
Purana, Candravali herself admits this truth

  • Laxmiji - Demi God represents wealth and money.
  • Lakshmi or Laxmi (Sanskrit ??????? lak?mi) is
the Hindu goddess of wealth, light, wisdom, the
lotus flower and fortune, and secondarily of
    luck, beauty, courage and fertility.
Representations of Lakshmi (or Shri) are found in
Jain and Buddhist monuments, in addition to Hindu
temples. She is also kind to children and gives
    presents.
  • In Puranic Hinduism Lakshmi is the Mother of the
Universe and Vishnu's Shakti. Lakshmi is consort
to Vishnu, and also married his incarnations Rama
(in her incarnation as Sita), Krishna (as
    Rukmini) and Venkateshwara (as Alamelu).
  • Vrindavan - The sacred ancient forest / Indian
village associated with Lord Shree Krishna's
pastimes as a youth, a very holy place of
pilgrimage, situated on the banks of the Yamuna
River near Govardhan mountain in the Mathura
    district, Uttar Pradesh, India.
