2Introduction

desserts, watching movies, travelling, being
outdoors, enjoying culinary experiences and being
engaged in conversation. - But before I elaborate on some of my favourite
pastimes, Ill briefly go over my educational and
vocational background.
3School and Work
- I have a lengthy history in Burnaby and at SFU. I
attended Moscrop Jr. Secondary, Burnaby Sr.
Secondary, and SFU. - During and after my university studies I
continued to work at SFU mainly as a
researcher/research assistant in the departments
of Psychology, Political Science, Economics, and
the Public Policy Program. - But after burnout, I took a break from school by
starting from scratch in the financial industry
with a securities firm a few years back.

6 The joys of watching movies.
- Movies are a great source of entertainment.
- They can fill you with emotion, make you sad,
happy and angry. - You can escape reality by watching them.
- And/or you can choose to let them educate you
about yourself and different cultures, people and
politics. - In no particular order here is a small eclectic
compilation of movies I recommend....

7Id like to make more time for
- Enjoying culinary experiences
8Some memorable travelling experiences include
- Discovering the trails and beaches of Vancouver
Islands west coast. - Summer in Montana, a.k.a. Big Sky Country.
- The annual arts festival in Inuvik, Northwest
Territories. - Autumn in Vermont. The foliage, balmy weather
and Thanksgiving dinner complete the idyllic
American experience. - The streets of Bangkok. That was a real
eye-opener.

10Food Appreciation
- If were fortunate enough we can take pleasure in
the food we eat and not think of it as only for
sustenance. Food can be enjoyed for its taste
alone as well as in its social context of
friends, loved ones, and family. - Whether its homemade or from a restaurant,
considered comfort food or haute cuisine, local
or International, the food can be appreciated for
its taste and for the effort that was put into
creating it.
- Memorable Foods While Travelling
- Mo Burgers (Missoula MT)
- My very first Montreal bagel
- Fried fish in a DC market

11Engaging in conversation.
- I often find peoples life experiences
fascinating and I enjoy being engaged in
conversation and learning about those
experiences. I enjoy talking to people from a
wide variety of backgrounds especially those that
may seem dissimilar to my own. As long as theres
an element of respect and understanding, I
wouldnt want to let ones politics, social,
economic and cultural background get in my way.
Its my reward to find similarities among people
as well as differences among them where none
would seem to exist.
12I have very limited experience in these
activities but would like to eventually.
- Learn how to play the guitar
- Do some organic gardening
