- BARRIERS TO ALCOHOL ARREST REFERRAL.
- BACKGROUND.
- CONTENT OF AN INTERVENTION.
- CASE STUDIES.
3Reasons why Alcohol Arrest Referral in custody
wont work.
- Offenders will be too drunk to do a meaningful
intervention. - Wont be enough time for an hour long
intervention to take place while they are in
custody. - Wont be able to get staff who will only work
weekends, 6am to 2pm. - No one is interested in alcohol-its not illegal.
- Alcohol users wont admit they have a problem.
- An intervention will interfere with the custody
process. - Custody staff wont be bothered - we all like a
drink
