- Limit spending increases to combined rates of
population growth and inflation. - Implement health care reforms to improve
productivity and limit need for significant
increases in health care spending in near term. - Support governments practice of applying budget
surpluses towards taxpayer-supported debt
reduction. - Continue to reduce per capita debt.
- Accomplish this while providing for key
infrastructure and other priority capital
investments

- Narrow the gap in the general corporate income
tax rate versus Alberta. - Reduce the small business income tax rate from
4.5 per cent to 3.0 per cent. - Narrow the personal income tax rate gap with
Alberta for the higher income brackets. - Eliminate the capital tax for financial
institutions.
