YND Environmental Assessment
  • Status. .
  • Issue.
  • No YND download show stoppers
  • Discussion.
  • Issue was addressed during Aug 01 site survey
    at YND and USARJ IPR in Mar 02
  • There were no existing reports to support a
    FONSI
  • JED is preparing an Environmental Report to
    assess the environmental impact
  • IPR indicates no issues preventing watercraft
    COSIS operations at North Dock
  • The watercraft COSIS contract will be in
    compliance with JEGS
  • EDC for the ER and FONSI is 19 Jul 02
  • Recommendation.

YND Load Bearing Study
  • Status
  • Issue.
  • 15 year old load bearing study revealed no data
    for Site 1 and a portion of Site 2
  • Discussion.
  • Study verifying pier strength will preclude
    damage to watercraft and pier
  • JED is expediting core sampling and testing
  • Results will be used to design and build
    cradles with correct footprint
  • One LCM8 from the SV to remain pierside until
    the AC downloads in Sep for a consolidated lift
    with floating and mobile cranes to permanent dry
    storage locations
  • Recommendation.
  • CEB-H designed cradles with the correct
    footprint to prevent damage to the pier

  • 374th CONS sees no problem meeting the 15 Aug RDD
    for mooring/access equipment
