  • Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM)

11
Hawaii Optical Transport Network Army (HOTN-A)
Lucent awarded separately priced option in March
2007 to provide DWDM architecture capable of
providing 10Gig infrastructure on Army
installations with coordinated OC3 (scaleable to
OC48) inter-base connectivity.
Design integrates SONET and DWDM requirements
within a single shelf and provides up to two
OC192 intra-base rings. Solution will also
integrate 10GigE w/MPLS within the network core
and still provide support for legacy TDM circuits
as required.
Pending final synchronization with DISA-PAC, OC3
(scaleable to OC48) inter-base connectivity
between Schofield Barracks, Fort Shafter and
possibly Tripler Army Medical Center will be
established once the required DISA point of
presence is established at Schofield Barracks.
