as possible with practice fields, days, times,
    etc.

  • Discuss AYSO Philosophy
  • Assign each parent a volunteer duty (snack, field
    set-up, team parent, photos, etc.)
  • Encourage your parents to attend ref training (so
they have a better understanding or the game
and to help out in a pinch)

(if copies make sure the copy has a parents
    original signature)

Checklist
  • Your commissioner will give you a coaches
    checklist postcard
  • After you receive your practice field
assignments, uniforms, equipment, etc. return the
    card to your commissioner
  • Uniforms (do not add players names to the back)
  • After this meeting (you will meet your
commissioners outside to pick-up your equipment)
  • Your commissioners (or a volunteer) will assist
you with the selection of your goalie shirt and
coaches shirt during the practice field
    assignment process)

15
Field Crews
  • Each team has one (or multiple) field crew
volunteers (marked on the registration form)
  • Assign your field crew (as you would your snack
    schedule)
  • If your team plays the first game of the day
your field crew needs to line the fields, set-up
    goals, flags, etc.
  • If your team plays the last game of the day
your field crew needs to put the equipment away
(and throw away left over trash)
  • There are storage tubes/facilities at each field.
(Try not to lose the locks)

16
Issues
  • Parking
  • We can lose our field permits because of parents
parking illegally (do not park on landscape,
dividers, double parking, etc.) causing damage
to landscape, sprinkler systems, etc.) and
setting poor examples for our kids.
  • Bathrooms
  • Trash
  • Everyone needs to pick up after themselves
  • AYSO garbage cans need to be emptied in dumpsters
    and returned to storage sheds

17
Coaches Ref Clinics
  • Check www.mpsoccer.org for clinics in our region
    or a neighboring region
  • Coaches clinics definitely make practices fun for
the kids and provide coaches with great drills
    for skills
  • Encourage as many people as possible to attend
ref clinics (ref web link on our site)

18
Practice Field Assignments
  • City of Menlo Park

19
Referees
  • Ted Wobber

20
End of Season
  • Assign a parent volunteer to collect the balls,
equipment, goalie shirt, etc. at the end of the
    season
  • Player ratings
  • Must be completed by the end of the season
  • Equipment and ratings must be returned before
    trophies and pictures are issued

21
Whats Next
  • All coaches meet with their division
commissioners outside for uniforms and equipment
    - and to pick a number for practice field
    assignments
  • We will call your division inside for practice
field assignments while the other coaches pick-up
    goalie shirts and coaches shirts
  • When done turn in your checklist to your
    commissioner

22
Its for the Kids
  • HAVE FUN!!
