What does all of this mean?
  • By using words like we and weve it includes
himself as a part of the group when he discusses
the changes that need to be made as well as the
end to discrimination of African American workers
  • Dr. King uses words like go and want as
action words to show his audience that actions
speak louder than words and if they are going to
change this discriminative view on the workers
  • By using God, Lord, and Almighty, the
understanding of the audience is that God is on
their side as well and will be there standing by
    them through this

7
In conclusion
  • Dr. Kings careful consideration of his diction
helps convey his idea of changing the views and
opinions of the discriminators as well as put
himself in as a plain folk and taking a stand
    against discrimination
