• Depending on the ending of the word, or any
  accents found therein, you will know on which
  syllable the emphasis lies
• The accent mark indicates the stressed
  syllable, overriding any other grammatical rules

• Word Endings
• Words that end in -n, -s, -vowel
• The emphasis is on the penultimate syllable
• Hacen Tienen Miran Limitación
• Tardas Veces Horas Almacenes
• Artista Venganza Contento Hacía
• This becomes very important when conjugating
  verbs!!

• All other endings result in an emphasis on the
  LAST syllable
• Sudor Comunidad Ordenador Cartel
• Mirar Tenedor Ajedrez Fiel
• Tenaz Oficial Edad
  Capaz
• Keep in mind that the accent mark is also used
  for other purposes (question words, distinguish
  between words, commands)
