City Layout
  • LA is not a single city, but is many communities
wrapped by the surrounding urban sprawl, totaling
    464 square miles.
  • The streets themselves are straight and arrayed
into a grid pattern. The only exception is the
southwestern residential area around the Rolling
    Hills.
  • The overall layout of LA is sporadic at best
since the city is composed of many smaller cities
that have merged to become LA as we know it
    today.
  • LA is also the home of one of the most unique
streets in the world. Ventura Blvd is a 17 mile
