  • Encourage independent learning
  • Promote creative ability

2
Learning Activity Package (LAP)
  • Logical sequencing
  • Determined by the OCAP or ITAC
  • Use a variety of teaching and evaluation methods.
  • Avoid assignments that require only reading with
    a written response.
  • Monitor the work of each student.
  • Use planned checkpoints in each assignment.
  • Mix group instruction and assignments with module
    (LAP) packets.
  • Remediate an unattained learning activity by
assigning another activity that is similar to the
    first one attempted.

3
LAP Components
  • Present an objective.
  • Determine student knowledge.
  • Provide instructional activities.
  • Safety!!
  • Post-test to measure achievement.
  • Re-teach if necessary.

4
Information Sheets
  • Explanatory background info on a single topic.
  • Supplement instruction by supplying pertinent,
    factual info which is
  • Current
  • Necessary to have close at hand, or not readily
    available in other suitable form
  • Essential for reaching knowledge (cognitive)
    objectives

5
Info Sheets (Contd)
  • Used to supply
  • Technical
  • Safety
  • Special interest, and career information
  • Use is recommended when
  • Info is missing or inadequately covered in
    available documents
  • Existing info needs to be condensed,
    consolidated, and reorganized from several
    sources
  • Published info needs adapted (simplified) to the
    level of the student

6
Info Sheets (Contd)
  • Published info needs adapted (simplified) to the
    level of the student
  • There is a need to save time and expedite
    learning
  • Information sheets are meant to be studied and do
    not direct student activity.
  • Source references should be included.
  • Review questions may be added to the sheet to
determine how well the info was understood.

7
Assignment Sheets
  • Used to present a new concept, principle, or
    information.
  • Directs the student to
  • Read and study selected material prior to or just
after the teacher has dealt with it.
  • Practice the application of general principles
(drilling in mental processes such as math
calculations) as well as manipulative skills.
  • Solve problems.
  • Apply info that has been presented in the class
    or lab.

8
Assignment Sheets (Contd)
  • Generally, the assignment sheet includes the
    following parts in predetermined sequence.
  • Page heading
  • Introduction
  • References
  • Assignment
  • Study questions

9
Assignment Sheets (Contd)
  • Assignments can involve
  • Preparing a bill of materials
  • Reading and interpreting drawings
  • Studying, plotting, and interpreting data
  • Planning procedures
  • Observations, investigations, and/or field
    surveys and recording data
  • Analysis and decision-making problems similar to
    those encountered on the job

10
Operation Sheets
  • An operation is one part of a process of doing
    any job task.
  • An operation sheet contains
  • Written instructions and illustrations to explain
how to perform each procedural step in a
    manipulative operation
  • The how and not the why of the operation

11
Job Sheets
  • Assists the student in the performance of a
manipulative job task resulting in a product or
    service.
  • Provides a step-by-step sequence of directions on
how to do a particular hands-on job task
