LABELING OF ITEMS Please be sure to label all,
jackets, mittens, boots, book bags, lunchboxes
etc. Your child will need a bookbag and a folder
is recommended. IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO CHECK
YOUR CHILDS BOOKBAG DAILY!

Please send in a rest towel labeled with your
childs name. Please send this in a plastic bag.
Each childs rest towel will be stored in
his/her individual bag. These will be sent home
every Friday to be washed, and needs to be sent
back to school the following Monday.
15
LUNCH PROCEDURES
Please make sure your child knows what he/she is
doing for lunch daily. It is a big
responsibility, but one that is very important.
Each day your child has the option of purchasing
milk or a lunch. I recommend paying ahead on
your account instead of daily. When sending in
money, remember to put your childs name on the
envelope and label if it is lunch or milk money.
ALL MONEY MUST BE IN AN ENVELOPE LABELED. For
pricing and further information please view the
handout.
16
SNACK A snack schedule will be sent home
every month. If there is a problem and you are
unable to send snack in on your scheduled day
please let me know. Please send snacks that have
very little preparation. Individual snacks are
great if not already separate, please put in 24
baggies. Possible snacks can include pretzels,
crackers, veggies, fruit, etc. Drinks are not
needed.
17
STAR OF THE WEEK!
Star of the Week is a very special honor for
all students. Each child will be the STAR OF
THE WEEK and will be assigned a week during the
school year. This will take some preparation at
home. Have your child decorate a poster board
displaying some photos of him/her. Please write
captions to help your child tell about these
pictures. We will hang the poster on Monday to
share. It will be sent home on Friday of the
same week.
18
SURPRISE BAG
  • Surprise bag is something exciting that takes the
place of what you may remember as show and
    tell.
  • Please look for the surprise bag and help your
    child follow the directions.
  • Please do not allow your child to bring in a toy
if it is not their sharing day.
  • Each child will take the surprise bag home during
    his or her star week.

19
Kindergarten birthdays are very special and will
be recognized in the classroom. I will
coordinate these with the snack schedule each
month. Please let me know if you would like to
bring in cupcakes, donuts, cookies, etc. (NO CAKE
PLEASE!) I will arrange for children with the
summer birthdays to celebrate their birthdays
before school is out. There is also a BIRTHDAY
BAG with a birthday journal for your child to
take home and return on the next school day.

20
  • Each month, you will receive a monthly
newsletter. Please look for it to inform you of
upcoming events, birthdays, units of study,
skills we are learning, and other important
information. The snack calendar will be attached
    to the newsletter.

21
Your child will be bringing home a
Scholastic book order form once a month. I
encourage you to allow your child to choose
books as they are fairly inexpensive
and of excellent quality.
