share of trade in economic activity
8Overall, the current account improved in 2005
9The goods surplus has rebounded while the
services deficit has expanded
10Energy products led goods exports
11 while imports were up across-the-board
12Services exports have expanded at a slower pace
13 while services imports are up.
14The importance of the U.S. for Canadian exports
has been falling, as well as for imports
15Notwithstanding, trade with the U.S. averages
almost 2 billion a day
16Imports from LDCs have increased following the
2003 Kananaskis LDC market access initiative
17Canada is a net exporter of capital

partner, the United States and - Extending our reach to new markets.
