  • A package can refer to a particular set of
resource limits that have been assigned by a
hosting provider with regard to the account of a
user. Packages can be created, deleted or even
edited by the system administrators in the
    Packages section of WHM.
  • A package can also refer to a software collection

node. Tasks are assigned by it to one or more
    than one child nodes.

Parked Domain
  • A Parked domain is the second domain which is
meant to point to a primary domain. Let us take
    an example, both http//www.xyz.net/
and http//www.xyz.com/ point to the same
website. That is because xyz.com is a parked
    domain for xyz.net.
  • Ones website is made available by it, from
another domain name. Parked domains are referred
    to as aliases in cPanel.
  • In the context of domains, it is essential to
mention the service of web hosting, which makes
it possible for websites to be accessible over
the Internet. Web hosting is provided by web
hosting companies that are often referred to as
the Best Website Hosting Company or as the Top
Cloud Hosting Company or as the Best Windows
    Hosting Company.

Passive Mode (PASV)
PASV refers to a mode for FTP connections.
Connections from the clients side are initiated
by it. This mode can be used when a user
encounters problems while trying to connect,
through a firewall, to an FTP server.
7
Passive OS Fingerprinting
(p0f)
Passive OS Fingerprinting is a service. A
visitors operating system and other information
related to email notifications are reported by
it. This information aids in identifying quickly
those visitors that trigger alert causing events.
8
Perl
Professional web hoPerl is a programming language
that is meant for web applications. Perl
applications are usually .pm, .pl and .cgi files.
Perl modules might be required by these. Custom
code can be written in Perl by third-party
developers.
9
Perl Module
Perl Module is a software component in the Perl
programming language. It is usually reused by
developers. Perl modules can be installed in
either of the two interfaces that are being
mentioned below. The Perl Modules interface in
cPanel. cPanel -gt Home -gt Software -gt Perl

PHP Extension and Application Repository
(PEAR)
PEAR is a repository of PHP code. A user can
search for and then install PEAR packages that
have PHP programs which carry out such website
functions that are useful. PEAR packages can be
installed in one of the two interfaces that are
mentioned below. The PHP PEAR Packages

PHP Extension Community Library
PECL refers to a repository for C extensions that

scripts on servers is improved by it.
15

phpMyAdmin
It refers to a graphical application. It lets
server administrators manage as well as
manipulate databases that are related to MySQL,
over the Internet. This feature can be accessed
by server administrators in the SQL Services
section in WHM.
16

Plugin
The features or functionality of an interface are
modified by a plugin. The plugins for cPanel, WHM
interfaces or Webmail can be written by one.
17

Plus Addressing
Plus addressing is also referred to as
subaddressing. A plus character and string are
added by it, after the username of an email
account. Messages would be recognized by the
email account and would be placed in the list
mailbox. In the event that the mailbox doesnt
exist, this message is sorted by the account to
the inbox mailbox.
18

POP Before SMTP

It is an authentication method that is meant for
mail servers. This method lets a user who has
received an email through IMAP or POP3 to send
mail for half an hour without having to
re-authenticate through SMTP. This can be enabled
or disabled by WHM users through the Tweak
Settings interface in WHM. WHM -gt Home -gt Server
Configuration -gt Tweak Settings.
19

Post Office Protocol
version 3 (POP3)
POP3 is an email transfer method that is used
widely. Every message in an email account is
copied by POP3 to a local computer. Post that,
these messages are deleted from the mail server.
Information is not sent back by the system to the
email account regarding message replies or
forwarding.
20

Private Key
A private key is a string of characters that is
used by a computer for the purpose of encoding
and decoding those encrypted messages that are
received by it. A pair of keys is used by an
encryption scheme, where one is a public key and
the other one is a private key, in order for the
creation of a secret code.  When an encryption
scheme is used by one, then anyone who sees the
message that was sent by ones computer or
received by it, cant know the content of such a
message without having access to the private key.
Ones confidential information is protected by a
private key. Hence, this key should be stored
safely.
21

Process ID
(PID)
PID is that unique number which is assigned by
ones server to every individual process that
runs. One can view a list of the running
processes with PIDs in the Show Current Running
Processes interface in WHM. WHM -gt Home -gt
System Health -gt Show Current Running Processes.

Public_ftp

A public_ftp is a subdirectory that is inside
ones home directory. It contains files that can
be accessed publicly through FTP. Files might be
uploaded to this directory by FTP users. This is
that default directory which is accessed by the
users when they connect to ones site by using an
anonymous FTP.
23

Public_HTML
Public_html is a subdirectory that is inside the
home directory of a user. Such files are
contained in it that are accessible publicly
through the HTTP protocol. Any file or folders
that are in the public_html directory can be
viewed by the visitors over the Internet. This is
possible unless a website owner protects these
specifically with the aid of password
protection or the .htaccess file.
