• REGIONAL PARTNERSHIPS
• Through Regional Partnerships, the Australian
  Government will invest in projects that focus on
• improving access to services . Priority to
  communities in regional Australia with a
  population of less than 5,000 Encouraged to
  develop projects that can address inadequacies in
  local community infrastructure and services - ie
  Community Halls Sport Facilities
• supporting planning economic growth and skills
  development.
• assisting in structural adjustment by investing
  in projects that assist specifically identified
  communities and regions adjust to major economic,
  social or environmental change.
• stimulate growth in regions by providing more
  opportunities for economic and social
  participation. Support youth leadership and
  address the needs of youth in the region.

• Is the project a want or a need?
• Is there community support?
• What benefits are to be achieved?
• Why is it important in the context of the area?
  (eg. economic dependency, population decline,
  insufficient employment opportunity and difficult
  socio-economic conditions, etc).

Regional Partnerships funding will assist the
Meander Valley Enterprise Centre to complete the
development of the Meander river bank as a
recreational and tourism precinct, enhancing
Deloraine as a significant tourism destination.

Woolmers Heritage Kitchen Garden
Regional Partnerships 27,500 Co-funding 75,900
Regional Partnerships funding will contribute to
the construction of a garden for heritage produce
varieties, in Longford, for use in an on-site
restaurant at the National Rose Garden, Woolmers
Estate, Longford This project will enhance an
existing tourist attraction, which will increase
visitor numbers and economic benefits to Longford
region.

This project will replace the Derwent Valley
State Emergency Services Unit's primary response
vehicle and rescue module.

Regional Partnerships funding will assist the
Meander Valley Centre for Health and Well Being
Inc to fit-out and furnish The Shed which will be
facility for disadvantaged members of the
Deloraine community where people can meet, learn
new vocational skills, gain confidence, form
friendships and generally improve their health
and wellbeing.   .
