Is a rural Intelligent Transportation Systems
(ITS) deployment project and brings
transportation technology to the rural
environment. . . Gathers weather and road
condition information together using a variety of
advanced technology systems. . . Provides the
traveling public easy access to information so
they can make informed decisions.

• Nebraskas 511 is patterned after the SAFE
  Advanced Traveler Information System developed by
  Meridian Environmental Technologies, Inc., and in
  use in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and
  Montana.
• Dial 511 in Nebraska and you can access SAFE
  reports in neighboring states.
• Thats information for over 44,000 miles of
  roadway!

  phased out as users become comfortable dialing

• Cellular telephone users will incur the usual
  fees associated with any cellular call.
• When land line service is available, users should
  incur no additional charges by calling 511.
