Voluntary Half-Tablet Program
The UHPS Half Tablet is unique in several
ways -It is completely voluntary. -Members
choose to participate. -It respects the
physician/member relationship by requiring
physician involvement in the decision. -Medication
s are reviewed for certain clinical criteria and
must be deemed safe and appropriate for
splitting. -Members save between 150 and 300
annually.

Member safety is always our first consideration
  • Thorough clinical review of medications to
    determine appropriateness for the program
  • Members are encouraged to talk to their doctor
about the program and if it is right for them
  • The program is completely voluntary Members make
    the decision to participate
  • The program includes convenient access to a pill
splitter to promote safe pill splitting
