MOLECULAR GENETIC EPIDEMIOLOGY IN THE POSTGENOMIC
ERA   Tampere, Finland, 25-28 March, 2008 at
Public Health School, Medisiinarinkatu 3 by the
University Hospital. Start 1000 on 25.3 and
finish 1300 on 28.3.    EU Networks Cancer
Control Using Population Based Registries And
Biobanks (CCPRB) and Newborns And Genotoxic
Exposure Risks (NewGeneris) sponsor a course in
molecular genetic epidemiology at the Tampere
School of Public Health. Fellowships will be
provided to students/scientists from
CCPRB/NewGeneris laboratories, covering economy
travel and accommodation. Applications with a
motivation (few sentences and reference to CCPRB
activities) and a short CV have to reach the
course organizer Kari Hemminki (k.hemminki_at_dkfz.de
) by February 22, 2008. The selected candidates
will be notified by March 1. Students/scientists
from any institution are invited to participate,
subject to space limits and approval by the
course organizer applications, as above, are
accepted on the first-come-first-serve basis
until March 1. No financial support is provided
but there is no course fee. For cheap

epidemiology with a focus on genomic and
statistical techniques applicable to common
diseases, population genetics and molecular
medicine. Concepts of genes and environment in
disease causation, tissue/serum banks,
large-scale genotyping methods and
bioinformatics, family, twin and other population
