Registered Keypads
If the student has registered their keypad using
the WebCT module, you can download the
participant list directly from WebCT.
Note - this functionality is not available on the
Macintosh or in Turning Point Anywhere.

Before Starting Class
Launch Turning Point 2008
Choose WebCT Wizards/Campus Edition 6.0/Vista 3,4
from the Tools menu.

Import Participant List
Choose Import Participant List and press Next
(You can use this same dialog to upload reports
back to WebCT)

Log Into WebCT
Enter the Server name and Port Number as shown
below.
Your User Name and Password are your Portal login
names.
Finally, make sure the SSL box is checked and
press Next

Select Institution
The WebCT wizard will ask you to select your
institution - you should only see Chico.
Highlight Chico and press Next

Choose Courses
Once you have selected the institution, you will
be presented with a list of your courses in WebCT.
You may download lists for multiple courses.
Simply place a check mark next to the course for
which you want a participant list and press
Finish.

Save Each List
You will be presented with a save dialog for each
course you have chosen.
You may accept the default name or rename the
list as you choose.
If you are doing this in your office, you will
want to save the file to your removable or
network storage so you can load it on the
classroom computer.

Import Complete
Once all of the classes have been downloaded from
WebCT, you are notified that the import was
successful
Press OK..
You should only have to download the list once,
unless, of course, the class roster changes
through adds or drops.

Using the Downloaded Participant List
When you go to class, take the downloaded lists
on a flash drive or put it on network storage.
Before starting class, launch Turning Point 2008
and select Import a Participant List from the
Participants drop down menu in the Turning Point
tool bar

Choose the Participant List
Choose the list you wish to import by navigating
to the removable storage device using the
standard file dialog. Press Open.
The file will be imported into the Participants
folder on the Smart Classroom computer.

Select the Participant List
Finally, choose the name of the participant list
you just imported from the drop down Participants
menu.
You are ready to begin class and all answers from
the students will be associated with their
registered clicker.

Next Class Session
During the next class session, you can simply
choose your class from the Participants drop down
menu. There is no need to reimport the list.
Note - the Participants list is saved in the My
Documents/TurningPoint/Participants folder on the
Smart Classroom computer. This folder is not
erased during a restart and should contain the
lists from day to day. Nothing, however, prevents
another user from deleting the list, so you
should always have the list available on
removable storage just in case you need to import
it again.
